Terms of service
These terms apply to the ALFA Marine Logbook app (iOS), to the Plancia (alfa.adctechmarine.com) and to this website. By using ALFA you accept them.
The service is provided by Alessio De Carne, trading as ADC Tech Marine. For any question write to adctechmarine@gmail.com.
ALFA keeps the maintenance of a boat or a fleet in order: deadlines by engine hours and by date, safety equipment, insurance policies, costs, trips and the history of the work done. The app runs on your phone, even without a connection; the Plancia runs in the browser, for fleet managers. A mechanic who is given access by the owner through the boat’s QR code can propose the work carried out.
ALFA is free to use today. The Premium and Fleet plans are in a free trial until we switch on payments. When we do, we will tell you beforehand, with the price, and no charge will be made without a subscription you take out yourself, with 30 days of trial before the first charge. If you do not subscribe, your account goes back to the free features and your data stays.
What you enter stays yours. You allow us to store it, process it and show it to the people you have authorised, only to run the service. How we handle personal data is explained in the privacy policy.
Each job in the history is signed by the person who declares having carried it out. The mechanic proposes only what was actually done; the owner approves. Whoever signs or approves is responsible for what they declare.
The certified service history collects the work recorded over time on this vessel. Each job is signed by the person who declares having carried it out, who is solely responsible for it. ADC Tech Marine attests only that it has collected and stored this data over time; it does not verify its accuracy and is not liable for false statements or fraudulent use by those who entered them, nor for any resulting damage.
ALFA reminds you of the dates and hours you enter, or that follow from them. It does not check that equipment, policies and work are valid, compliant with regulations or suitable for your navigation, and a reminder may not arrive: for example without a connection, with notifications turned off or because of a fault. Legal obligations, inspections and servicing remain the responsibility of the skipper and the owner.
We do our best to keep ALFA running at all times, but we cannot guarantee it: updates, faults and third-party services may interrupt it. The service changes over time: we may add, change or remove features. If we remove a feature you use, the data it holds stays yours and we will let you download it.
To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect damage, for data entered by others, or for the consequences of a missed deadline. We do not limit our liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, nor the rights the law grants consumers that cannot be excluded.
You can delete your account at any time from the app’s Settings. Before you confirm, the app offers to download the history of every boat that will be removed. What remains after deletion is set out in the privacy policy: in short, a signature placed on a job on someone else’s boat stays in that boat’s history.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms; except in urgent cases, we will tell you first and explain why.
The app, the Plancia, the website and the ALFA name and logo remain the property of ADC Tech Marine. We grant you the right to use them for the service, not to copy or resell them.
If we change these terms we update the date below. For significant changes we tell you beforehand, in the app or by email. If you do not agree you can delete your account; by continuing to use ALFA you accept the new terms.
These terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, disputes fall under the courts of the place where you live, and the mandatory rights of your country remain. If you use ALFA for your professional activity, the courts of Bari, Italy, have jurisdiction.
For any question about these terms write to adctechmarine@gmail.com.
